This is when the Google Pixel 10 will be released
The Pixel 10 is coming, that much is certain. But when exactly can we expect it, and what can we expect besides Android 16? We've summarized the latest rumors for you, along with our prediction of when Google will release the Pixel 10 series.
This year will be a little different from other years. That's because Google has changed the release schedule of Android. Google now releases two Android updates each year: one major and one minor. Android 16 will be released in June, followed by a smaller update in the fall. The question now is when Google will announce its new Pixel 10 phone.
When will Google "drop" the Pixel 10?It seems obvious that Google will opt for the major Android update, but that may be too simplistic. Releasing a new Android version and a new Pixel phone at the same time carries risks, as we saw with the Pixel 9 unveiling.
Avoiding Pixel 9 problems at all costs
Work on Android 15 was delayed, putting the launch of the Pixel 9 at risk. Google therefore decided to release the new Pixel line with an older version of Android. This proved difficult to sell to customers, so Google wants to avoid that scenario for the Pixel 10. As a result, the launch of Android will be brought forward and that of the Pixel phone will remain the same.
We are therefore expecting a launch in August. A date has even been mentioned: August 25, 2025. It is unusual to release a new mobile phone in the summer; most companies opt for the fall (Apple) or the beginning of the year (Samsung). Previous Google Pixel phones were announced later;

As in previous years, the Pixel lineup will consist of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and a Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Their code names have already been leaked and are 'Frankel', 'Blazer', 'Mustang', and 'Rango', respectively. These names are a reference to horse breeds.
How much will the Pixel 10 cost?
Given the current economic climate, it is unlikely that the Pixel 10 will be cheaper than its predecessor. The Pixel 9 was launched at a price of €899, which was €100 more than its predecessor.
